November 2006: Today's Golfer Magazine
Ask the Experts
We think Mindfocus for Golf™ is great, but don't just take our word for it! Our website was recommended by Today's Golfer to help amateur golfers improve their game by workinig on aspects such as concentration, confidence and anxiety. TG Instruction Editor Carly Cummins says: The web is a really good alternative. There are a number of sites dedicated to the mental side of the game. I recommend you try www.mindfocusforgolf.com. It offers a comprehensive programme that acts as a virtual mental coach, using internet-based interactive exercises, video clips and informative articles to help you understand how, when and why you should apply specific mental skills. At just £50 for membership it's a cost-effective solution for golfers who shy away from one-to-one sessions.
August 2006: Mindfocus for Golf featured in Play Better Golf Magazine
Get Yourself a Game Plan
Have you ever stood over a four-foot putt and wondered to yourself: "Will I miss it to the left or the right?" If you have, then the chances are your mental attitude is not all that it ought to be. By Clive Agran.
June 2006: Dr Paul Holmes joins the Mindfocus for Golf editorial team
Dr Paul Holmes, a sport psychologist specialising in imagery joins the team
Imagery is considered one of the most important mental skills a golfer can master to improve their game. Mindfocus for Golf™ covers imagery in detail using video clips, articles and downloadable focus sheets designed to improve the golfer's understanding of how and why imagery should be used. We are delighted to announce that Dr Paul Holmes from Manchester Metropolitan University will be joining the editorial team, and providing content on imagery, and other topics that he specialises in.
Dr Holmes commented: "Mindfocus for Golf™ is a great concept for those amateur golfers who wish to play better golf. The system is set up so that it supports golfers at all times, and the weekly exercises are neither difficult nor time-consuming but allow golfers to really understand how good mental skills can help them play better out on the course. I am looking forward to working with the Mindfocus team to further develop the understanding of sport psychology amongst amateur golfers. "
Dr Holmes was a member of Team England for the past 3 Commonwealth Games, and has worked with European Tour, Satellite Tour and GB/England amateur golfers. Paul is currently a consultant to the GB Olympic Shooting Team.
